Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS)

Minimally invasive cardiac surgery allows doctors to perform procedures through small incisions while without having to stop the heart, use a heart-lung machine, or separate the breast bone. This results in shorter recovery time, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays and less trauma for the patient. The most common types of minimally invasive heart surgeries are heart valve repairs and replacements. Other types of minimally invasive procedures include da Vinci robotic surgery and the Mini MAZE procedure.
